Foreclosure Statistics

2.5 Million properties have been seized by lenders since the start of the recession.  It is reported that another 1.2 million homes will fall into foreclosure for 2010 alone. This past summer, the number of homes in foreclosure was the highest it has been since 2006. 288,000 homes foreclosed this summer.

 
Homeless Statistics
 
According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, It is estimated that by 2012, 1.5 Million Americans will be homeless due to the recession. 
 
Jobs/The Unemployment Rate
 
In September the Department of Labor reported an unemployment rate of 9.6%, with no improvement for 14 months.  This has not been seen since the Great Depression.  95,000 jobs have been lost during the recession.  15 million Americans lost their jobs.
 
Consumer Spending
 
Consumer spending makes up 70% of the nation’s economic status.
 
Consumer Credit
 
1/3 of Americans have credit too low to get approved for: auto loans, personal loans, credit cards, refinancing, mortgages and more.
