The USA PATRIOT ACT was implemented in 2001. This is actually an acronym that stands for; The Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act. This Act was signed by President Bush allowing law enforcement agencies to examine telephone and email communications and access medical and financial records of an individual.
